Richard Neff

After teaching mathematics for 30 years, I retired from Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania as a mathematics professor in 1998. As a segue into retirement, I audited a variety of art courses at the college. Currently, I oil paint local outdoor scenes and, due to the current situation, I am an inactive copyist at the National Gallery of Art where I have painted for over 8 years.

Ava and I moved from Pennsylvania to Virginia in 2009 to be nearer our daughter and family who live in Arlington. We have a son and family who reside in Strasbourg, France. I enjoy playing and singing bluegrass and old time music. I play banjo and sing in two local bands— THE DOWN HOME RADIO BAND and THE DIFFICULT RUN STRING BAND. Tennis and vegetable gardening are two activities that I also enjoy.
