75th Anniversary Events & Celebrations

JANUARY: 1940s-1950s

Jan 7: FOOD PANTRY DEDICATION

Join us as we embark on our 75th year! We will dedicate a new Holy Trinity Food Pantry to serve our local families and neighbors in times of need. Stay after worship for this special celebration.

Jan 20: WELCA BIBLE JOURNALING

The history of Holy Trinity records that on January 25, 1949, the Women of the Church were organized, making it the first group established in the congregation. At the Bible Journaling event, the WELCA will review a short history and celebrate with cake and a toast to the continuation of the Holy Trinity WELCA. Please see our event page for more details.

Jan 21: BISHOP LEILA ORTIZ

Holy Trinity will be welcoming Bishop Leila Ortiz on Sunday, January 21st. Plan to attend a special Adult Forum (8:45 AM) led by Bishop Ortiz, who will also be preaching that day.

FEBRUARY: 1960s

Feb 10: Jazz Coffee House

Our Fellowship hall will be transformed into a lamp-lit club showcasing historic photos from our archives. Enjoy coffee and sweet and savory nibbles from the 1960’s while being entertained by the exceptional Glenn Pearson Jazz Quartet. The group will be playing jazz standards such as those first performed by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, and other greats of American jazz. Special 1960’s Jazz Collections will be performed in celebrating the 60s decade of our history. Admission is free and all are welcome. The fun starts at 7:00 pm.

Feb 18: Sweetheart Coffee Hour

Join us right after worship for a 1960s Sweetheart Coffee Hour featuring 1960s era refreshments from our church cookbook and elsewhere. We will use an old punch recipe popular at 1960’s weddings. Additionally, enjoy a display of photos and items from the church archives as we continue to celebrate our 75th year. All ages are welcome.

MARCH: 1970s

mar 17: 70’s celebration

We’ll be having a 70’s celebration after worship service on March 17th! After a special postlude to conclude service, we'll have dishes from the 70s, display photos and other items from the era, and hold a small panel with members who want to share memories from the decade. If you would like to be part of the panel and share a memory, reach out to office@holytrinityfallschurch.org!

APRIL: 1980s

April 14: Remembering the 80’s

Please join us on April 14th for Forum, when Pastor Craig Endicott will join us to share his memories of HTLC in the 1980s. Pastor Endicott served at Holy Trinity from 1988 to 1998, and we are excited to welcome him back and hear him preach in the service on the 14th.

April 14: 80’s crafts during family education hour

Have you ever seen shirts or hats that change colors in the sun? Those cool creations got their start in the 80's! Join us for Family Education Hour on Sunday, April 14th, following worship (at 11:15 AM) to create your own color-changing hat or bandana--all ages are welcome to celebrate. Don't miss this gnarly 80s pastime!

April 27: Live aid karaoke fundraiser

In 1985, the Live Aid concert raised $127 million for famine relief in Africa.  In honor of the 80s decade of Holy Trinity, we will hold our own singing event - karaoke! - to raise funds for hunger relief.  Join us on Saturday, April 27th from 6-9pm in Fellowship Hall to showcase your talents and enjoy FREE PIZZA!  In the spirit of Live Aid, we have set the goal to collect 127 items of food for the Little Food Pantry outside the church and raise $1270 for ELCA World Hunger, which is celebrating its own 50th anniversary!  Donations to ELCA World Hunger can be made on the HTLC website Giving page, and food donations can be brought to the church.
