Ray Goodrow

Ray Goodrow is a watercolorist that strives to capture movement and spontaneity in his work. His developing personal style reflects the uniqueness of the watercolor medium and its endless possibilities for creative accidents and colorful explosions.

With a background in Architecture and Historic Preservation, his subject matter often reflects both an interest in the built environment and an effort to capture a sense of time and place. He finds great resources in his photography from travels here and abroad. A Texas native, he has lived in the Washington, DC region for over thirty years and has taken classes at the Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Chesapeake Fine Arts Studio.

Ray is a member of the Vienna Arts Society, the McLean Art Society, and the Southwestern Watercolor Society. He has exhibited in juried shows locally at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Gallery Underground in Arlington, the Crystal Moll Gallery in Baltimore, and won first place at the 2016 McLean Art Society "Art on the River" exhibition. He lives in McLean, Virginia.
