Pastor Mike Gutzler

Mike is lead pastor of Holy Trinity. He has a calling to introduce people to the challenging message of Jesus, mentor the growth of Jesus followers, and help individuals hear God’s calling for their unique lives. Mike has degrees from the University of Mary Washington and the Graduate Theological Union with additional certifications in Islamic Studies and Arabic from the University of California, Berkeley. When Mike is not engaged in matters of faith and life he holds the position of Associate Professor of Religion at Northern Virginia Community College where he enjoys teaching about all of the world’s great religions. Mike lives in Fairfax with wife Emma and their two children, Clara and Lawson.

Joshua Brown, Director of Music and Choir Director

Joshua Brown is a versatile musician that is equally comfortable conducting, performing as a classical vocalist, and teaching in many styles of music. Recognized as a “fine baritone” by the Washington Post, he has performed in operas, recitals, and concerts at various venues including the Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, as well as many others throughout the DC Metropolitan area and abroad. As a music educator he has taught and conducted musicians of all ages and abilities from Kindergarten to adult. As a believer in the power of music to form bonds of cultural appreciation and human understanding, he very much enjoys being the conductor of the Washington International Chorus. Joshua currently resides in Alexandria VA with his wife Caitlin.

Greg Bloy, Accompanist

Greg Bloy studied organ performance at Oberlin Conservatory, where he played saxophone with the Oberlin Jazz Ensemble and sang and played recorders with the Oberlin Collegium Musicum. He continued his studies at Penn State, where he received a Ph.D. in mathematics while studying organ and playing in the university jazz ensembles. He has performed in many semi-professional and touring bands in Pennsylvania and Michigan on saxophone and keyboards. He currently sings with Voce, a northern Virginia choral ensemble.

Daniel Rinehart, Director of Congregational Mission

Daniel Rinehart grew up in Minnesota and has lived in Turkey and South Korea.  He graduated with a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, in 2015 and then moved to this area with his wife, Leslie Nightingale.  They live in Falls Church with their cat, Freya, and their dog, Rosie.  Daniel has a day job in Reston at a health care market research firm, and he likes to read and cook in his spare time.

Kateleigh Hewins Clark, Director for Social Media & Brand Management

Kateleigh serves as the Director for Social Media and Brand Management at Holy Trinity. In this capacity, she plans and coordinates the church community’s social media and digital presence. She holds a Masters in Divinity from Harvard Divinity School and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross. Kateleigh also works as a user experience analyst at a local consulting firm. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, camping, crafts, and hiking. Kateleigh lives in Fairfax with her husband, Seth, and their dog, Murphy.

Joan Buscher, Administrator

Joan joined the staff of Holy Trinity as Parish Administrator in September 2010.  Her prior experience included positions in government and the private sector and operation of two home-based businesses.

Greg D’Addario, Communications Coordinator

Greg D’Addario became Holy Trinity’s first Communications Coordinator in September 2012, having previously served as the church’s webmaster for several years.  Greg is also a first grade teacher with the Arlington Public Schools.  He is also the Webmaster for Holy Trinity.

Eric Chancellor, Director of Handbells

Eric Chancellor serves as the volunteer director of handbells at Holy Trinity.  Eric is from Lamar, Missouri, birthplace of President Harry S.Truman, and is a graduate of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.  Eric moved to the Northern Virginia area in the late 1980’s, and spent the next 30 years in various Information Technology and military intelligence related positions, retiring in 2015.  Eric has been a member of Holy Trinity since 1999, and has been associated with church handbell choirs for over 20 years.  Eric and his wife, Denise Meister, live close to Holy Trinity.  They enjoy participating in church activities, taking long walks in the neighborhood, and visiting friends and relatives.

Felicito Arana, Custodian

Felicito Arana came to the United States from El Salvador in 1986, leaving to escape civil unrest in that country, and to build a better life for his family.  His wife, Maribel, joined him 2 years later, and his three sons followed 12 years later. In the U.S. he was blessed with two more children.  Felicito also works for the Fairfax County Public Schools.

Genie Davis, Newsletter Editor

Eugenia M. Davis has been the Holy Trinity Newsletter Editor since 1995.  She has an expert understanding of Holy Trinity’s program and activities, drawn from more than 50 years of membership; service as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, vocal and bell choir member, children’s choir director, Altar Guild member, and Church Council member; and participation in Women of the ELCA activities.

Stephen Deal, Missionary

Holy Trinity supports the mission work of Stephen Deal, Regional Representative for Latin American and the Caribbean in the ELCA’s Division for Global Mission.
