Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was organized in the late 1940s with a few mission-minded people from Arlington looking to plant a congregation in Falls Church, VA. The small group began worshiping in the Hillwood Square Community Hall, a temporary war housing project on Defense Walk near Cherry Street in Falls Church. Worship services and Christian education began on September 12, 1948, with 40 adults attending the service and 21 children enrolled in Sunday School.
Since our beginning more than 60 years ago, Holy Trinity has continued its tradition of being a congregation for the greater Falls Church/NOVA neighborhoods supporting local people in need and sharing the Gospel to our ever changing and growing community.
Today, with an established building and accessible presence right off Rt 50, Holy Trinity continues to be a presence of God’s love in the world. Our mission is strong and continues to be our guide, with the help of God:
We are a welcoming community of disciples of Jesus Christ, living in God’s grace, caring for our church family as one family, and actively seeking to discern God’s will in the giving of our time, talent and treasure in serving each other and our local and global community.
If God is calling you to find a community of faith, we encourage you to consider being a part of our story and join us to help make a positive impact in the world today.
